The Hibis Wall Lamp from The Met x Eichholtz collection pays tribute to an early example of a composite capital—the decorative uppermost part of a column from the temple of Amun at Hibis. The glass elements on this reinterpretation reflect the vertical rhythm and botanical ornamentation on the original piece, which combines elaborate papyrus and foxtail motifs.
